Adventures in metal cutting...continued

This weekend was interesting! I did manage to work on a piece that the director of the community choir I am in asked me to work on for the ladies of the choir to wear the night of the concert. It still has some time to go in the tumbler, but it is coming along quite nicely!

  1. Georgious! Do you come up with your own designs. Your choir will be thrilled, I'm sure. Anita

  2. Thanks, Anita!
The heart itself is actually taken from the Community Performing Arts page of the community center magazine we have the choir through. She (the choir director) wanted the design to be something symbolizing the city, but the logo wasn't something anyone would want to have as a piece of jewelry...It is beautiful, mind you, but not something that would really be something you'd want to wear everyday. So I dug till I found something that would work!

Thanks for taking the time to look and comment! Your feedback is much appreciated!

  4. Thanks! Not all the ladies in the choir have seen it, but I've been wearing it all day today and I am very surprised at how comfortable it is! Me saying that is a LOT -- I make jewelry but have a really hard time finding something that I can tolerate to wear for long (I have a VERY sensitive system that tends to react very strangely to certain metals...haven't figured out why, just know it does...everything has to be surgical stainless steel for my system to be able to tolerate it). If I AM able to find a necklace that I can wear, it seems that it's always sliding and twisting around which is really quite annoying...but it probably has more to do with the fact that I'm not use to wearing a necklace! So, I'm quite pleased with how comfortable this one is and hope everyone else likes it too when they see it!

  6. what a really fabulous design and very well executed! I am very jealous of your scroll saw - but it's really good to know I can use one to cut sheet metal. thanks for the information!
