Netting...Bending wire and my patience! LOL

Well, I have been seeing some beautiful netted pendants lately and thought I'd give it a whirl...I managed to finish this one without throwing it out the window. HA! I don't think it turned out too bad considering I was figuring it out as I went and the 4' of easily coiled and kinked 30ga dead soft sterling was testing my patience. I have determined that 30ga is entirely too fine and have some 28ga ds on order (as of this morning!). I think I'll keep it to see how much I improve. =)

  1. It's lovely, but are you sure the stone is secure?

  2. It is gorgeous, but as Anne asked, what is holding it?

  3. I think it's absolutely gorgeous!! I can understand why the 30g would be a pain, but it sure does look pretty:) I have yet to try the netted technique, but I hope to soon.

  4. Hi, Anne and Jeanne!
Rest assured, the stone is quite secure...what you can't see is that the wires that are coiled up the bail are actually one wire that is also threaded through the top drilled (side to side) hole in the stone. =)

  5. Thank you for clarifying that. Now it makes sense. Maybe you should have kept that a secret.
    Thanks for visiting my blog.

  6. LOL You're right, maybe I should have kept that a secret and kept you all wondering...I thought it was quite ingenious and was so very proud of myself. HAHAHAHAHA! Seriously, though, by the time the netting is finished you can't see the hole or the supporting wire. Pretty kewl!
